Reviews
We had a disappointing experience dining at Amaravathi House. The food quality and minimal service experience are key considerations for this review. The sweet corn chicken soup had no taste and shouldn’t be on the menu.
Starters - the chicken 65 was likely stale and was served after reheating, likely in a microwave. There was no crispiness! The other chef special, karampodi Kodi, tasted better and was not freshly cooked either.
We tried the Chettinad Chicken with fire and garlic naan. The bread tasted better than the dish, which is unfortunate as we were looking to some tasty curries and were left disappointed.
Service is no good either, it almost felt like customers aren’t coming to dine anymore at this place.
I have been to this restaurant before for which I was disappointed. Yet thought of giving another chance and visited for second time.
- I must say, I’m impressed with service, satisfied with food.
For starters we ordered Karampodi corn, Veg spring rolls and Egg salt and pepper.
- If your looking for spicy options in veg do go for “Karampodi corn” it will not disappoint you.
- Egg salt and pepper was good too.
- Veg spring rolls were little disappointing but not bad.
Coming to main course, we ordered just Naan and curry.
- Garlic naan was so soft and yum. I asked to brush some butter on top of naan.
- Kadai paneer was good in taste and goes well with garlic naan.
Finally, dessert time. No matter how full you are, there is always a room for desserts 😁 We had Rasmalai sweet. It was nice.
Conclusion, this is place was worth giving a second try.. 👍🏻😋
Food quality is very inconsistent. Most of their biryanis and appetizers are good over the weekends, but on weekdays or over long weekends, the quality is way off.
Ordered amaravathi special boneless biryani and chicken 65 and instead got
regular biryani and some sweet and spicy chicken.
A very nice hidden gem in the making in Pleasanton of all places 😀
A great lunch buffet, something you can't find almost any more. The setup is a bit awkward as you have some food trays on the left away from the rest of them on the right, yes like 180° away from each other.
The restaurant is quite big and cosy, and they have lots of folded tables and chairs in case you want more room.
The food is very good for the price range and the service is decent. I really enjoyed eating there.
In my hunt for Indian restaurants after recently relocating to California, one of my friends recommended Amaravathi Restaurant. It's a terrific place to eat authentic Indian food, and in particular, the taste, cleanliness, and customer service were excellent. It's also a great place to eat non-vegetarian appetizers and biryanis, as well as garlic naan, panner 555, and shrimp ghee roast, which were all excellent.
Not a biryani (pulao) person but I liked their bezawada bajji biryani a must try. Also the fire naan with dal tadka is an amazing combo
Very bad experience. Went there especially for Dosas. Did reservation for large group for dinner. Not even ha occupied but Staff wasn't able to handle. They didn't have rava dosa, idli , vada, all basic stuff was over even at 6 pm itself. Without choice ordered whatever we could - paneer Tikka, plain dosa, masala dosa, they made it so spicy kids couldn't eat it. Service was pathetic ' no spoons napkins and food was served way bfr. 2 ppl got dosa when everyone finished. Do not recommend
Loved this place. Authentic taste of Indian food straight from Andhra. The appetizers, main course are all so good that you will fulfil all your indian food cravings. Highly recommend this restaurant if you are in the bay area. Must try!
